The Guild was started at Stroudwater Baptist Church by Virginia Holt, wife of then pastor Rev. Ellis J. Holt in 1936. Our purpose as a service organization is to support the church in a financial way and by having fellowship at the same time. The Guild contributes a pledge of $600.00 a year to the church and after our Rummage Sales and the Christmas Fair we contribute 10% of our earnings. We meet the 1st and the 3rd Wednesday of each month except during the months of January and February. Our first meeting of the month is a business meeting and the third Wednesday we socialize, usually eating out. Our numbers are very low at this time and we would welcome any ladies of the church to join us Wednesdays from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Bring a sandwich and fellowship with us.
